Echidnopsis montana  An uncommonly seen species with elongate red and yellow flowers. The flowers are large for Echidnopsis but still quite small (1/4 inch long or so). The plant itself seems lighter is dark green to red and covered in bumps.

People tend to shy away from Stapeliads because of their reputation for being rot prone, but actually they are simple to grow.  Give lots of light, but protect from hot afternoon sun in summer.  During the growing season they can be watered as much as any other succulent (i.e. regularly but don't let the soil stay wet).  In the winter keep totally dry unless you are growing it in a greenhouse.  Cool and wet or low light and wet are what rot this and all other Stapeliads.  Cool and dry or low light and dry in the winter and you should be fine.  Stem cuttings root easily.
