However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will instantly burn its precious, thick leaves. An east or west-facing windowsill is the perfect choice.

• 💧 Watering: Extremely rare, moderate, and very careful! Since its leaves are massive and distinctly succulent, the plant stores huge water reserves in them perfectly. Water only when the soil in the pot is completely dry down to the bottom! Since the plant is in a small 8 cm pot, it will dry out relatively quickly, but the plant absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will quickly cause root rot. This is a completely normal natural process – when the long shoot finds firm support or enough light, new, grand, and thick leaves will gradually grow on it. Do not repot this plant immediately into a larger pot – hoya roots prefer a narrow, compact environment. When you do repot it in the future, be sure to use an extremely airy, porous, and loose epiphyte/orchid soil mix (generously mixed with perlite, coconut chips, and coarse orchid bark) so the roots get maximum oxygen and excess water drains instantly through the pot.
